The short version
HotHawk gives you three ways to automate your cold email. A full REST API lets you read and write campaigns, leads, mailboxes and replies. Webhooks fire on every event, sends, replies, bounces and unsubscribes, so other tools can react in real time. And n8n lets you build no-code automations visually. There is also a native MCP server so AI can run HotHawk directly.
- REST API: read and write campaigns, leads, mailboxes and replies over a documented HTTP API.
- Webhooks: get an event the moment an email sends, a reply arrives, a message bounces or someone opts out.
- n8n: build automations visually, calling the API and receiving webhooks, no code required.
- MCP server: let Claude and other AI tools run HotHawk directly.
The REST API
A full REST API to read and write your campaigns, leads, mailboxes and replies. Bearer-token auth, paginated responses, and clear errors. If you can script it, you can run it against HotHawk.
Read the developer docsWebhooks
Subscribe to the events that matter, an email sent, a reply, a bounce, an unsubscribe, and HotHawk posts them to your endpoint in real time. It is the same event stream that powers our CRM sync, so you can wire HotHawk into anything that listens. Webhooks are covered in the developer docs alongside the API.
n8n
Prefer no code? n8n can call the HotHawk API and receive its webhooks, so you can build automations by dragging nodes around: add a lead when a form is filled, alert a channel on a positive reply, enrich a contact, whatever the workflow needs. It talks to HotHawk through the same API and webhooks any tool would use.
MCP server
HotHawk ships a native, hosted MCP server, so Claude and other AI tools can run your outbound directly: build campaigns, work replies, manage mailboxes. The automation writes itself when the AI can act.

Automating HotHawk, answered.
Does HotHawk have an API?
Yes. HotHawk has a full REST API you can use to read and write campaigns, leads, mailboxes and replies. It uses Bearer-token authentication and returns paginated JSON. The full reference lives in the developer docs.
Does HotHawk support webhooks?
Yes. You can subscribe to events like emails sent, replies, bounces and unsubscribes, and HotHawk posts each one to your endpoint in real time. It is the same event stream that powers HotHawk's CRM sync through OutboundSync.
Can I use HotHawk with n8n?
Yes. n8n can call the HotHawk API and receive its webhooks, so you can build automations visually without writing code. It connects through the same API and webhooks any tool would use, so anything you can express as an HTTP call or an event, you can wire up in n8n.
What about Zapier or Make?
Any tool that can call a REST API or receive a webhook can work with HotHawk, which includes Zapier and Make. We point most teams at n8n or a direct API and webhook setup, because that keeps the automation fast and under your control.
Can AI tools run HotHawk?
Yes. HotHawk ships a native MCP server, so Claude and other AI tools can run your outbound directly, from building campaigns to working replies. See the MCP setup page for the connection details.
